STARS's mission is to create a seamless environment that continuously strengthens Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology undergraduate education and research to prepare students for the challenges of graduate school and the 21st century highly technological workspace.

Program Objectives:

• Double STEM NSU graduates attending graduate school;
• Provide Norfolk State University's STEM students a seamless environment of recruitment, pre-entrance preparation, advising, mentorship, and research;
• Provide an experimental learning experience for STEM graduates where students develop independent research skills;
• Provide learning approaches such as:
  • Inquiry Based Learning,
  • Peer Instruction, and
  • Cooperative Learning
  to promote students' excitement in Norfolk State University's classrooms.
