What is a Mentor?

A wise and trusted counselor or teacher who interacts with students, and intends to develop and grow the skills, knowledge, confidence, and cultural understanding of the student to help him or her succeed.

Eligibility Requirements

• Faculty members performing research in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Technology
• Must be available at least 1-3 hours per week during the academic year and 5 hours during the summer.
• Willing to work with 1-3 students

• A means to help students toward success

Feedback

Mentors are asked to complete one feedback form halfway through the program and one upon completion of the term in order for the administration to monitor the progress of the mentoring relationship. Please note that these feedback forms will be kept strictly confidential.
